Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
1. Who we are
beezy.studio provides booking, calendar, client-record and payments software for independent hair and beauty salons ("the Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Service and this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
beezy.studio is operated by Hyvemynd Limited (NZBN 9429053771957), a New Zealand company. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020. Our Privacy Officer looks after privacy questions and requests, and you can reach them at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Account information such as your name, salon name, email address and phone number when you sign up, along with the team members, services and working hours you set up.
Client records, being the names, contact details, notes and appointment history you or your team enter into the Service to run your business.
Booking details, being what a client enters on a salon's booking page. That is their name, mobile number and email address, plus any notes for the stylist and any reference photo or link they choose to add.
Technical information such as server logs and the IP address of requests, so we can keep the Service secure and fix faults.
Billing information, handled by our payment processor for your monthly subscription. We don't store full card details ourselves.
3. If you booked with a salon
If you made a booking with a salon that uses beezy.studio, the salon holds your details and decides how they're used. We store them on the salon's behalf.
Your details may have been entered by you on the salon's booking page, or by the salon when you booked by phone, by message or in person.
They're used to manage your booking, to send you confirmations, reminders and changes by email or text, and to keep the salon's record of your visits. Your name, mobile number and email address are needed to book online. Notes and reference photos are optional.
To see or correct what a salon holds about you, ask the salon. You can also email us at [email protected] and we'll pass your request on to them.
4. Client data you upload
When you add your clients' details to beezy.studio, you're responsible for that information and we act as your service provider, storing and processing it only to provide the Service to you. Let your clients know you use beezy.studio to manage their bookings.
It stays yours. Email [email protected] and we'll send you a full export of your clients, services and booking history.
5. How we use information
To provide and maintain the Service, to communicate with you about your account, to improve the product, and to meet our legal obligations. We don't use your clients' details for our own marketing.
6. Where your data is held
The Service is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia. Emails and text messages are sent from the same region.
Some of the providers listed below process information outside New Zealand. We choose providers that are required to protect it to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.
7. Who we share it with
We share information only with the providers needed to run the Service. These are Amazon Web Services for hosting, email and text delivery, Stripe for subscription billing, Cloudflare for delivering our websites and for the spam check on booking pages, and Google for our support email and for sign-in if you choose to sign in with Google.
We don't sell your data, or your clients' data, to anyone.
8. How long we keep it
We keep account information and client records for as long as the salon's account is open.
Cancelling a subscription doesn't close the account. To close it, email [email protected]. We then delete the salon's client records, bookings and team details within 30 days, and the copies in our backups are overwritten within a further 7 days.
We keep subscription invoices and payment records for seven years, as tax law requires. Server logs are kept for 30 days.
9. Payments
beezy.studio doesn't process payments for your salon's services. You take payment from your clients however you already do (EFTPOS, cash, bank transfer) and mark the appointment paid in the Service. Your monthly subscription fee to beezy.studio is billed separately, through our payment processor.
10. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 20 working days.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
11. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies necessary to make it work. We don't currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls limiting who can see your data.
If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll tell the people affected and the Privacy Commissioner as soon as we can.
13. Changes to this policy
We'll post updates here and, for material changes, let you know by email.
14. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can go to our Privacy Officer at [email protected].
